What is Bluetooth technology?
Bluetooth is a proposed radio frequency specification for short range, point-to-multipoint voice and data transfer. Bluetooth can transmit through solid, non-metal objects. Its nominal link range is 10 cm. to 10 m. Bluetooth will enable users to connect to a wide range of computing and telecommunication devices without the need to connect to cables. It provides opportunities for rapid, automatic and unconcious connection between devices. This power efficient radio technology can be used in many of the same devices that use infra red technology, like our good old remote control of VCR, television and music system. Bluetooth technology will eliminate the need for purchase additional or proprietary cabling to connect individual devices. The technology will potentially replace multiple cable connections via a single radio link. Bluetooth's ability to penetrate solid objects and its capability for maximum mobility allows for data exchange applications that are very difficult or impossible otherwise. More Information
